5、What is a sheath used for?

An introducer sheath is a medical device used for Vascular access in procedures like angioplasties. It holds a vessel open and allows practitioners to insert other tools safely into the area of interest. Medical manufacturers produce a range of introducer sheath products for different applications, in sterile packaging designed for ease of use. The best option for a given case can depend on the type of procedure and the patient’s vascular health.

6、What is the difference between introducer and catheter?

Introducer is catheter, but catheter is not only the introducer, catheter is wide range.

7、Where do you put an introducer catheter?

Mainly in the radial and femoral arteries.

8、What is the difference between diagnostic catheter and guiding catheter?

Diagnostic catheter is for diagnostic purpose, while guide catheter is used for proving the channel for coming medical device to pass through

9、What are the types of diagnostic catheter?

There are so many types, but mainly sorted into Coronary and peripheral, like JL/JR/ MP/RDC etc

10、What is the difference between diagnostic and interventional catheter?

Interventional catheter has wide range than diagnostic catheter.

11、What are the advantages of diagnostic catheter?

Actually, we could not say advantage, it needs to define the object of comparison.

For procedure of surgery, it helps doctor to see the situation inside the vascular before giving treatment.

12、What is an angiography catheter?

Catheter angiography uses a catheter, x-ray imaging guidance and an injection of contrast material to examine blood vessels in key areas of the body for abnormalities such as aneurysms and disease such as atherosclerosis (plaque). The use of a catheter makes it possible to combine diagnosis and treatment in a single procedure. Catheter angiography produces very detailed, clear and accurate pictures of the blood vessels and helps define treatment options.

13、Which catheter is used in coronary angiography?

There are so many like JL ,JR ,TIG AL etc

14、Is catheter angiography painful?

Actually no

15、What does a balloon do in a catheter?

Expanding purpose

16、Is balloon catheter very painful?

NO

17、What does a cutting balloon do?

The Cutting Balloon is a unique angioplasty device used in percutaneous coronary interventions. The advantage of the Cutting Balloon is its ability to reduce vessel stretch and vessel injury by scoring the vessel longitudinally rather than causing an uncontrolled disruption of the atherosclerotic plaque. The atherotomes deliver a controlled fault line during dilatation to ensure that the crack propagation ensues in an orderly fashion. Lower balloon inflation pressures (4 8 atmospheres) are recommended with the Cutting Balloon. The Cutting Balloon also dilates the target vessel with less force to decrease the risk of a neoproliferative response and in-stent restenosis.

18、What is the difference between a scoring balloon and a cutting balloon?

Structure is difference : Scoring balloon has wire covered on balloon , while cutting balloon is some blades on balloon

19、What are the complications of cutting balloon angioplasty?

Cutting balloon angioplasty (CBA) is one of the adept ways of treating “in-stent restenosis.” Various complications related to cutting balloon angioplasty have been reported including arterial rupture, delayed perforation and fracture of microsurgical blades.

20、What is guide wire?

A device used to enter tight spaces, e.g., obstructed valves or channels, within the body, or to assist in inserting, positioning, and moving a catheter. Guidewires vary in size, length, stiffness, composition, and shape of the tip.
